  1. After completion in Serbia the hull of the AmaVista has been transported in 4 weeks from Serbia to the Vahali Shipyard in Gendt.

    Scheduled to arrive today - the 15th of May-2014 - to ship will arrive according to the planning.  Starting next week with a final inspection on the slipway - the subcontractors will also start with the final outfitting and installations on board.
     
    As scheduled the ship will be delivered in December from which on the final installation of carpet and furniture will start.  

  2. With 3 ships of the Certo-class in operation, 1 to be delivered in a couple of weeks and another 2 under construction - AMA Waterways again extends its fleet by another 2 vessels of the Certo-class.

    On Friday, the 22nd of March the contracts have been signed for the delivery of two vessels in 2016 - to be named as AmaViola and AmaDessa. The vessels will join the AMA fleet in March and April 2016 and will complement the current AMA fleet. 

    Both vessels will have the same layout and capacity of the existing Certo-class.

    The order for the construction of the vessels is again awarded to Shipyard Vahali and existing subcontractors.  Kamphuisen Projects is appointed as Owners represenattive and again responsable for the supervision during the construction and (interior)design. With these two vessels in portfolio the number of vessels we built for AMA raised to 16.

  3. On March, 16 the AmaReina received her first guests in Amsterdam and departed one day later for her first cruise to Budapest. In the meanwhile the AmaSonata executed the final trials for Lloyd's Register and the final certificates have been issued.

    Whilst the AmaReina sets sail for her maiden-voyage to Budapest and the Christening off the vessel on the 4th of April in Vilshofen - the subcontractors on board of the AmaSonata started with the final outfitting of this vessel.

    In the upcoming weeks we will deliver and install the hotelequipment, furniture and other fine goods which finally makes the ship into a five star river cruise vessel.  The first cruise for the AmaSonata will start on April, 23 - with her Christening on the 22nd of July - also in Vilshofen.

    In the meanwhile the construction of the 5th vessel - the AmaVista - is well on its way at the Vahali Shipyards in Serbia.  The launch of this vessel is planned on April, 10 and it will be transported to the Netherlands from May, 1   Scheduled to arrive at Vahali - Gendt around the first of June.

  4. Travel Weekly, the national newspaper of the travel industry, has awarded AmaWaterways three 2013 Magellan Awards for two of its European ships and for its overall river cruising experience. The annual awards honor the best in travel as determined by a panel of highly accomplished travel industry experts. AmaWaterways’ AmaPrima received a Gold Award in the “River Cruise Ship” category and its AmaCerto received a Silver Award in the “Cabin Design (non-suite)” category. In addition, AmaWaterways received a Silver Award in the overall “River Cruising” category.
